week long felt workshop series with......... Judy and Mr. Purdue

September has been a busy month in Istanbul with so many interesting people stopping by for a visit or shopping. Many designers have stopped by as it ..IS fashion week in Istanbul. We just realized that we are a designated stop on a tour from Marmara University durrng their textile symposium. http://sempozyum.marmara.edu.tr/tekstilsanatitasarimi2012/ We are looking forward t more interesting visitors. This week we had Cathy (alias Judy, which I kept mistakingly calling her for two days!)here to the studio for a week long felt workshop series. Cathy made some great pieces includng hats , slippers and bag.

We have been busy filling orders, teaching workshops and even a little vacation!!!...oh yes and we filmed a short blip for Japaneese tv. We love having students stopin from all over..we recently had Jean Sims Barlow from Colorado and Haku from Jpan. We are expecting more students in October from USA, Holland and Australia

Went on a little ebru jag for a week

While we had the paint out..Mehmet and I went on an ebru ag..using a few different size silks..of course our favorites camme at the tail end....we like the damla(drop) effect..makes lovely abstract geometric forms...on to hats and scarves this week...
